Well its time to test our mission, "to share our knowledge and experiences in a fun and informative way".

The Ranger and his friends just returned from a 6 day trip from the Olympic Peninsula to do a little Steelhead fishing (See fishing page), but we got just a little more(see RV page).  The good part was we did some wonderful fishing on the Bogachiel River,  without success of catching a fish, but the water was clearing up and the weather was beautiful.  It was truly heaven. (See Camping page).
The humorous part was the first 2 days. Rangerrob got to be a plumber at Sequim State park, fixing multiple water leads in the trailer.  It was quite a site looking at our trailer in the campground with a bathtub and showers sitting near the campfire.  Once the repairs were made, we continued to our first destiny, Lake Ozitte near Neah Bay, which we found to be totally under water when we got there.  The plan was to show the little Rangers the wonderful senery and wildlife there and then go visit the Makah Indian Museum, but that kind of changed our plans. So we thought Seqiu would be a nice little town to stay at, since it was New Years Eve.  But that town looked like it was up for sale.  I think we saw one person running to their car, hoping they were not the last ones to leave.  The young Rangers in the truck made it clear that they did not want to stay there, so they insisted that we drive to Forks and camp at Bogachiel state park.

We had a nice little party with the young Rangers, in a park all to ourselves.  Once we indulged in juice, popcorn and a toast for the new year, we went to bed, only to have another interesting day of fishing.

I strongly suggest every fisherman involve their  kids.  If not for the good things to show our children, but for entertainment as well.  My young Ranger is a pretty good fisherman, but sometimes they must play first before they get serious.  So my 14 year old Ranger and my 17 year old Nephew decided it was pretty fun to play in the wet sand along the river and sink to their knees and lean forward like Michael Jackson in one of his music videos.  It was great till my young Ranger could not get out.  I was just up the river from them, wondering what the heck they were doing, They looked a little strange from my view.   One kid only 3 foot tall, normally 5'7" and the other trying to pull him out.   It was quite funny, but serious too.  I had a feeling what had happened,   so I figured I would just let them learn, and after about 30 minutes, I noticed my kid was 5'7" again.  But then I noticed they were both on their knees trying to get something out of the bitter cold water, so I decided I better go see what they were doing.  I had a feeling what it was, but I waited till I got there to confirm it.   Yep, a lost boot in the bitter cold sand and water of the Bogachiel River and two very cold armed kids trying to save it.  So Rangerrob and the demoted little Rangers rolled up our arms and submitted our limbs to the cold water till we finally saved the boot.  I sure hope knowone saw us.

I did not have to say much to them, My little Rangers knew how stupid that was, but I must admit, it made a great story.  The Young Rangers fished quite seriously after that.
