Smith Rock - In Central Oregon
Here is a video called "Travel Highlights" with Rob Scribner.  Enjoy!

Funny Camping Pic of the day!  Camping Tools:

Camping in Sequim Washington:
We had a great time in Sequim Washington over the weekend, Here is some great photography we got there on land and at sea.

 May 4, 2009
This year we will be featuring affordable camping and outdoor activities in the Northwest.  Starting with Sequim, Washington State Park.
Our crew will be camping at Sequim Washington State Park on May 9th and 10th.
This year we have stored the boat at "West Bay Boat Manufacturing".  Its only a mile from John Wayne Marina.  Their prices to store a boat is fantastic!.
We are looking forward to a great year of Halibut Fishing, Crabbing and Salmon Fishing, along with some great camping trips.
Hope to see you getting outside and not hurting your wallet.  Come enjoy the Olympic Peninsula with us this year!

Hit the Ice in Bend, Oregon

Rangerrob Outdoor Magazine

Even with winter, you have to have a little fun.  The Ranger was forced to go Ice Skating for the wife's birthday.  I am not sure if it was for fun, or a chance to laugh at the Ranger.  We went to the "Cascade Outdoor Skating" ring at Juniper park, Bend Oregon.

By luck, there was not very many people there, due to Super Bowl.  The folks running the place were very cheerful and polite.  It cost only $5.00 ea and $2.00 for skate rentals.  Cheaper than a movie.  The Ranger clan were surprised to find out that the Ranger could actually Ice skate.   It was the wife that was screaming most of the time.  I must admit that it was fun to skate outside in the snow.  You really should try it.

Florence Oregon - Sutton Recreational Campground

Camping

Looking for a great place to stay on the Oregon coast? Try Florence, Oregon.  We took our 26 foot trailer over during the Labor Day Holiday to spoil the kids before they start school.  We stayed at Sutton Campground just a few miles north of Florence.  It was a great campground with 81 sites.  It was hosted by a wonder couple that took a lot of pride over the facility.

Activities in Florence:  We started our day off hitting the sand dunes on rental sand buggies.  Then a race on the Go-Cart Track.  Once we got the need for speed out of our system, we enjoyed Root Beer Floats and a short nap at the campground and then off to a 2 hour horseback ride through the dunes and then on to the beach.  I was very happy that was at the end of the day, for it was very hard to walk after 2 hours on a very large horse.

We drove a few miles north, past the famous Sea Lion Caves to Devils Elbow, where you may tour the light hose there.  It is a short walk up hill, but it is a great tour.  I give this weekend a A+ .

Bogachiel State Park:  Olympic Peninsula - Washington

Boy did we find a nice place to go in the winter.  This park is just 6 mile from the town of Forks and right along the Bogachiel River.  Perfect if you like to Steelhead fish,  and run back to your camp if the weather gets bad.  The Forest Ranger of the park said,  we were the fourth party to stay there for the month of December.  He did look a little lonely.

The park is very clean and well kept.  Restrooms were clean and the park is laid out pretty well.  There is only 6 Utility hookups, but the spaces were large.  This is a great place to stop and enjoy a beautiful river and nature, and if you need anything, the town of Forks is 10 minutes away.  Rangerrob will have some photos in a few days.

Prineville Oregon Reservoir

What a wonderful place to enjoy a little fishing, camping (Tent or RV) and water sports.  This was a very spacious and clean campground.  If you like water sports and warm weather, go to Central Oregon's Prineville reservoir.
